We built this for our own kids. We treat your data the same way.

Privacy isn't a feature we added later - it's why we built attune the way we did. Your family's conversations are intimate. We designed everything around one principle: collect only what's necessary, keep nothing longer than needed, and give you complete control.

Your recordings disappear

Audio is transcribed then immediately deleted. We never store your voice recordings - not for a day, not for an hour. They're gone the moment transcription completes.

Your data stays yours

We don't sell, share, or monetise your data. Not with advertisers, not with data brokers, not with anyone. Your family's information exists to help you - that's it.

We chose carefully

Every service we use was selected for their privacy track record and data handling practices. We turned down easier options because they didn't meet our standards.

Delete everything, instantly

One click permanently removes all your data. We built this from day one because we believe you should always be able to walk away completely. No hoops, no delays.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide the attune service:

  • Account information: Email address and password for authentication
  • Audio recordings: Voice recordings you choose to submit for analysis (temporarily processed, then deleted)
  • Transcripts: Text versions of recordings (processed for insights, then deleted)
  • Analysis results: The feedback and insights generated from your sessions
  • Usage data: Basic app usage patterns to improve the service

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

  • Provide personalised parenting insights and feedback
  • Maintain and improve the attune service
  • Send you service-related communications (you can opt out of non-essential emails)
  • Respond to your support requests

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the service you signed up for.

3. Data Processing and Storage

Our data handling follows a privacy-first approach:

  • Audio recordings are transcribed immediately upon upload and then permanently deleted. We do not store audio files.
  • Transcripts are processed to generate insights and then deleted. We do not retain conversation transcripts.
  • Analysis results (your personalised feedback) are stored so you can review your progress over time.
  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).

4. Third-Party Services

We work with carefully selected partners who meet our privacy standards:

  • Cloud infrastructure: For secure, reliable data storage and processing
  • Speech-to-text processing: For transcription (audio is processed and immediately deleted)
  • AI analysis: For generating parenting insights (no conversation data is retained by our AI partners)
  • Payment processing: For subscription management (we never see or store your payment card details)

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

  • Audio recordings: Deleted immediately after transcription (typically within seconds)
  • Transcripts: Deleted immediately after analysis
  • Analysis results: Retained while your account is active, deleted upon account deletion
  • Account information: Retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion

6. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
  • Export: Download your data in a portable format
  • Deletion: Permanently delete all your data with one click in the app settings
  • Correction: Update or correct any information in your account

For users in the EU, UK, and California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the service to function:

  • Authentication cookies: To keep you logged in
  • Security cookies: To protect against cross-site request forgery

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics that track you across the web.

8. Children's Privacy

attune is designed for parents and caregivers. While children's voices may be captured in recordings you submit:

  • Audio recordings containing children's voices are deleted immediately after transcription
  • We do not create profiles on children
  • We do not collect personal information directly from children
  • All analysis focuses on helping parents, not tracking children

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or through the app before the changes take effect. Continued use of attune after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
